Application
In practice, floor-to-wall joints - especially in the sanitary area - have narrow joints,
where, due to the narrow joint diameter, no rectangular joints are formed can. A triangular joint can be formed here, for its professional creation a Round cord to prevent three-flank adhesion is to be introduced.
The following requirements must be met for a permanently tight joint:
-
The sealant itself is intact and properly sized to accommodate the movements of the materials to be able to absorb (cohesion).
-
The sealant adheres permanently and securely to the materials to be joined (adhesion).
Therefore, in addition to the right choice of sealant - depending on the requirements of the joint – the Surface preparation for permanent adhesion of the sealant to the substrate decisive factor. The surfaces must be dry, free of dust and grease and free of non-stick parts (voids, Paint residue, rust, etc.) so that the sealant can adhere to it. Besides requiring cleaning some surfaces also must be prepared with a primer so that the sealants adhere can. Primers depend on the material to be bonded. Due to the many possible influences during and after application, the customer always must carry out trials first. Please observe the recommended shelf life which is printed on the packaging. We recommend storing our products in unopened original packaging dry (< 60 % RH) at temperatures of +15 °C up to +25 °C. If the products are stored and / or transported at higher temperatures / air humidity for longer periods (some weeks), a diminution of durability or a change of material characteristics may arise.
Please therefore note the product-specific information in the respective technical data sheet.
